Our mission
The Lazy Butcher is to provide a friendly and easily accessible platform for those looking to change and improve how they source animal protein. It will take changing the industry, one steak at a time. Not spending your dollar is not the answer, but spending it differently. We work hard to positively change the meat industry in any way we can.The world is currently looking at the meat industry through a magnifying glass. It is finally seeing all the disturbing things about the industry, forgetting to focus on the positive. Small ranchers, farmers, processors, and butcher shops are coming back.People no longer want mass-produced meat. Instead, they want well-raised animals that are good for them.
Evan Jeffries
Evan Jeffries' family has ranched in Evergreen since 1863, first visiting in 1860 and buying what is now the Evans Ranch. His Ancestry is strong through the Evans, Hayden and Davis Families spreading through the whole Upper Bear Creek valley. He grew up summer ranching with his grandma and uncle on Bear Creek, and started running Evergreen First for Consumer based cattle company in 2014, Bear Creek Cattle Company. He proceeded to expand this company beyond the means of available ranch land on bear creek and merged companies with his now business partner Levi Brown who also comes from a multi generation ranch in colorado, Lazy Acre Ranch. Due to the increased demand for their cattle they expanded to Levis Ranch and Merged Companies officially in 2018. This became the product Lazy Acre Beef, and produced the USDA processing facility Lazy Acre Meats which is located on Lazy Acre Ranch in Otis, CO.The company has expanded to operate wholesale accounts, direct to consumer and now retail sales back direct to its roots right here in Evergreen Colorado. Our company Ethos was born here with Bear Creek Cattle Company, we grew our company based upon the thought process of delivering a high quality local product direct to our consumers on a routine basis.
